Mark Palmer


Mark joined Green & Black’s as Marketing Director and moved it from a niche organic product to a premium everyday chocolate. Rising sales from £4m to £40m, inventing a new product category, and pushing products to market in 6, instead of the normal 21 months. Mark led the development of the company both at home and abroad.


After becoming a non-exec director of Green & Black’s Mark moved to Pret A Manger. Mark joined as Marketing Director, responsible for the marketing across more than 400 shops in the UK, United States, France and Asia, seeing the company double in size. After five years, he remains with the business as a part time advisor to the board working closely with the CEO on strategic growth projects and as a mentor to the marketing and creative teams. This is alongside holding non-exec positions with healthy snack company Primal Pantry, Union Coffee, and co-founding premium soft drink brand Cawston Press.
